Hamdard University is the private institution who offers the higher education programmes. This University was established in 1991 by Mr. Hakim Said. The University is locates at Karachi and Islamabad in Pakistan, near to the Sindh-Balochistan border. Hamdard University has the campus area of nearly 350 acres, which is the largest campus area for the any University in Pakistan. University is affiliated with the Pakistan Engineering Council. Nearly 5000 students are pursuing different programmes in the University likes Undergraduates, Post graduate and Doctoral level. Around 1000 admin staff is available for the students in the Hamdard University.
University mainly offers eight faculties which are as follows: Eastern medicine, humanities and social sciences, management sciences, health science and medicine (including dentistry), engineering sciences and technology (including information technology), pharmacy, legal studies and environmental sciences. Etc. University also conducts the programmes in the Institute of Advanced Studies and Research. University has the three constituent Institutes which are, Plastics Technology Centre, Karachi, Synthetic Fiber Development & Application Centre ( SFDAC ) and Usman Institute of Technology.
Hamdard University provides various facilities to the students like Cafeteria, Sports and recreation, Medical services, Health and safety and transportation etc. University also has well equipped library, the name of the library is Bait al Hikmat. University has the two campuses, main campus is the Karachi campus and other one is the Islamabad campus. Islamabad campus has the courses like Engineering and Computer Science, Business Administration and Management and Pharmaceutical Sciences etc. University also provides high speed Internet facility at the both campuses. DSL link of 4.5 Mbps is available in the University. Students can access internet through the Wi-Fi which is available in the whole campus. University also have well maintain computing center.
