Banaras Hindu University was made by act 1915under the parliamentary legislation. The university is producing many freedom fighter and builders of modern India. The university is affiliations by UGC. The campus of university covers one thousand fifty hundred acre of area the land of university is donated by kasha naresh. Banaras Hindu university has the two campus one of campus knew as Rajiv Gandhi it covers huge area of two thousand seven hundred sixty acres of area at Backache near Mirzapur. The university provides 140 teaching department and 60 hostels for girls and boys with capacity for 3128 student. The university has 12000 students living in campus. The University gives admission to the student on the basis of entrance exam and they are selected for their respective courses. A large number of foreign students get admission to this university.
The university provides three years graduation courses as follow:
Bachelor degree in social science, arts, bachelor degree in biology, Mathematics, B. com Hons, BFA, B. Museology, B. Professional, B.sc in agriculture, LLB, B. ED, BPED.
The university also provides 2 years post graduation courses the courses are as follow:
Sanskrit, Telugu, English, Persian, French, German, Ancient Indian History Culture & Archaeology, Philosophy, Linguistics, pali, Nepali, History of Art, Economics, Marathi, Hindi, Chinese, Sociology Political Science, Economics, and history. M Sc: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Botany, Geology, Zoology, Computer Science. M lib, m. com, mped, MCA, llm. MA: mass communication, museology, Prayojanmoolak Hindi.
