Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU) is a public university located at Rohtak, Haryana, India. Established in 1976 and named after the great saint Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the varsity is a premier institution of higher education in the region. The university offers courses in different fields of study at undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral levels. Besides offering courses at campus, it also acts as an affiliating university and provides several programs through various colleges, institutes and centers throughout the region. The colleges of districts Bhiwani, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Mahendergarh, Rewari, Rohtak, and Sonepat are affiliated to the university.

Maharshi Dayanand University was formed in 1976.Maharshi Dayanand University is one of the most magisterial universities in North India. The university affiliated by UGC. The university was situated at Rohtak, Haryana, India. The name of university is based on great saint Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. Maharshi Dayanand University has the one hundred twenty six colleges and institution under it and average admission of about 1.70 lakh students are studying. The university has B++ grade accredited by NAAC and University Grants Commission (UGC). The university successfully conducts 77 various academic programs under several departments.

The university main campus is located at Rohtak. The universities have the two other satellite campuses at Gurgaon and Rewari. The aim of university is to provide good quality education to student with regular development and research. The university offered various courses on the basis of certification courses in Spanish, French and Urdu, diploma in French, post graduate courses, under graduate courses, post graduate diplomas, Ph.D. and M. Phil Various faculties which are law commerce, education, technology and engineering , life sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, humanities, social sciences, management studies and Maharshi Dayanand University also runs (DDE) Directorate of Distance Education with enrolls 4500 students under several non professional and professional courses. The university also provides facilities like hostels, university health Centre and department for student welfare and library. The university has number of affiliated colleges. The affiliated colleges are: Physiotherapy Colleges, Pharmacy Colleges, Nursing Colleges, Management Colleges, Law Colleges, Homeopathy Colleges, Engineering Colleges, Education Colleges, Dental Colleges, Degree Colleges, Ayurvedic Colleges.

The university organized own scholarship program to its students to give help for complete their education for whom student deserve a scholarship.

Maharshi Dayanand University is a public university located at Rohtak in Hariyana state of India. It was established in the year 1976 and is named after Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati. It is the major institute for higher education in the region. The university offers many courses at undergraduate, post-graduate and doctorate level. It is very famous among the students throughout the country.

It also acts as an affiliated university by providing many courses across various institutes and colleges in the province. The colleges of surrounding districts are associated with University. It was established through an Act of Legislative Assembly of Hariyana in 1976 under the aphorism to establish and integrate a teaching-cum-affiliating university in region.

It was established to encourage higher education and research with special prominence on studies of life sciences and environmental and ecological sciences. If you take a look at the record of the last 31 years, you will notice its remarkable progress in the field of education, expansion programs and infrastructural development.

There are over 13 faculties, 27 post graduate departments which also include 77 academic programs that are conducted in campus. There are over 66 boards that design and develop new courses in various syllabuses. The major feature of the MDU is satellite campus at Rewari and Gurgaon. This affiliated university covers over 126 institutes and over 1.70 lacs are taking benefit from it through various disciplines.

It has prominent Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences located in the Rohtak with a 1000 bed hospital and medical college which offers over 21 fields for specializations. University also has Dental college located in Rohtak. On campus, it has Directorate of Distance Education and over 50,000 students are taking benefit of it under 24 professional and regular courses. MDU has established six Chairs to carry out research on he lives and contributions of some famous Indians.
