Gautam Buddha University is also known as the GBU, which is the short name of the University. The university is locates at Greater Noida in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Gautam Buddha University was formed in 2008 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the act of 2002. The name of the University is in the honors of Gautam Buddha. The campus area of University is around 511 acres and the design of campus is made by C. P. Kukreja Associates. University has the five different schools which are as follow: School of Engineering, School of Management, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Information & Communication Technology and School of Biotechnology. University also plans to start three new schools in forth coming years.

The campus of University is well developed. Whole campus area is rigged by Wi-Fi connection through Central Computer Centre (CCC) of the University. It has a hostel facility for the student which can be use for 5000 students. Library of University is works under the name of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Library. The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar library of University has huge volumes of e-journals and books which cover all the disciplines and courses. It has a capacity of carry 2000 students at a time very effectively. University also provides very good sports facility to the students. It has the meditation center, gymnasium center and swimming Pool and Indoor & Outdoor sports complex.

University offers various programmes in graduation, post graduation, diploma level and also doctoral level in different field. Some of the programmes are as follow: MBA, M. Tech, M.A., Ph.D. etc. These courses are available in various faculties.
