B. Master of Business Administration (MBA)

D. Master of Arts in Development Studies [2 Year (4 semesters) MA]

E. 2nd Year of Five Year Integrated M.Sc. (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics only)

Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following programmes for the academic session 2011-12. Applicants are required to note the name of the Department, Specialization and Code as mentioned against each programme below, that will be required at Serial No.-2 (Choice of Programme) of the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM.
A. M.Tech. ( 4 Semesters ) only for Sponsored and Self Financed(Non-GATE)
Eligibility :
The candidates should have B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. or equivalent degree in the discipline as mentioned above with not less than 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination. There is no relaxation in academic requirement for any category / caste of candidates.
B. Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Eligibility: The minimum eligibility criterion is B.Tech degree in any branch of engineering with 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA. Applicants who have qualified in reputed national or international tests for admission to Business Schools and secured high scores will get preference.
C. Master of Science [2 Year (4 semesters) M.Sc.]
Eligibility :
The candidate must have acquired B.Sc. degree with the subject applied for as one of the subjects (either in pass or Honours). Mathematics in +2 levels is compulsory for Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics departments.
D. Master of Arts in Development Studies [2 Year (4 semesters)]
E. 2nd Year of Five Year Integrated M.Sc. (CY, MA and PH) (For Existing Engineering Students)
Slow Pace Programme :
All M.Tech and M.Sc. programmes are also offered in slow pace (3 years for M.Tech and 4 years for M.Sc.) to candidates, employed (including self employment) in industry / organizations in and around Rourkela. It is available to students of both regular and sponsored categories within the approved seats. Eligibility criteria, selection process and fees are same as those for regular or sponsored students studying in normal pace. Candidates enrolling for M.Tech (Slow pace) programme are required to take one year leave from their sponsoring organization after successful completion of course work to complete their project work unless permitted by NIT Rourkela to carry out the project in the place of employment on the strength of facilities available in the sponsored company/organization.

National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT) formerly known as Regional Engineering College, (REC) is one of the premier national level institutions for technical education in the country. and is funded by the Government of India. Government of India has elevated the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela to a deemed university under the name of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela.
The main objective of the institute is to produce quality Engineers and Scientists in Graduate and Post-Graduate levels in various branches of Engineering and Science. The campus of the institute consisting of the institute buildings, halls of residence and staff colony is situated at the eastern end of Rourkela steel city, beyond Sector-1 over an area of 262 hectares of land provided by the Government of Orissa. It is a residential campus offering accomodation to faculty, staff and students. The campus has all the amenities for developing personal, social and academic skills of the student community.
