Application Procedure:-
Application form can also be obtained from the Assistant Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, Patliputra Colony, Patna - 800 013, Bihar. To receive application forms by post, send a request along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope (24cm x 15cm size). Request for form must be sent in an envelope super-scribed with `Request for Ph.D. Application form.
Filled in application forms complete with copies of mark sheets/certificates and other testimonials and a Demand Draft for Rs.200/- for General/ OBC candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PD candidates drawn in any nationalized bank and payable at Patna in favour of IIT Patna should be sent to the Assistant Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology Patna, Patliputra Colony, Patna - 800 013, Bihar
The words `Application for PhD admission in the Department of should be written on the top of the envelope for sending the completed form.
Candidates applying for more than one department should submit a separate application for each department.

About IIT Patna
The Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (also known as IIT Patna) is an autonomous institute for education and research in science, engineering and technology located in Patna, India. It forms a part of a group of 15 such IITs in India.
The science block has classrooms, faculty rooms and laboratories for physics, chemistry and mathematics. These include the materials research and optics research facilities of the Physics Department, the chemistry instruments and chemistry research facilities of the Chemistry Department and the computational research facility of the Mathematics Department.
The mechanical engineering block houses the mechanical workshop and includes basic and conventional manufacturing laboratories, as well as facilities for the study of CAD/CAM, robotics and automation, fluid mechanics/machinery, heat transfer and data acquisition. There are also areas for the study of engines, materials testing, metrology and the dynamics of machines.
