Eligibility:
Candidates having BE / B. Tech. / MCA/ M.Sc. / B. Pharm. / MBBS Degrees in any Engineering & its equivalent followed by a valid GATE score in respective disciplines.
(Includes up to 3 seats for sponsored candidates & up to 2 seats for Foreign Nationals/ NRI’s. Valid GRE Scores are required from Foreign National & NRI candidates in lieu of GATE Scores. There is no Separate Quota for these categories & if suitable candidates are not available, seats shall be open to General Category candidates..** In addition, MBBS, BDS and BVSc & AH Candidates are also eligible for this Program (for whom NO GATE Score is required). • IIIT-Allahabad has taken up an initiative to offer research oriented M. Tech. (Information Technology) programs with Specializations as above.
• All Reservations for various categories (SC, ST, OBC, PH) as per GoI guidelines apply. In case application of reservation is brought in force and likewise seats have to be increased; necessary changes may then be incorporated.
• All GATE qualified and MBBS, BDS and BVSc & AH candidates shall be eligible for a monthly teaching assistantship of Rs.8000/-.
• Candidates appearing in Qualifying Degree Examinations may also apply.
• Out of the 28 seats available in the Bioinformatics specialization, half are for candidates from the bio stream and the other half are for candidates from the other streams. However, if insufficient candidates are available from one stream then the vacant seats may be filled up from candidates of the other stream.
• A single form has to be filled, irrespective of the specialization and the applicant may indicate her/his choice of stream and corresponding choices of electives in the application form.

About IIIT Allahabad
The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad was established in 1999, as a center of excellence in information technology and micro electronics by the government of India. The institute was conferred "Deemed University" status in 2000, empowering it to award degrees following the setting of its own examinations.
IIITA is ranked among the top 15 technical institutes in the nation.It was ranked 11th in 2006, 13th in 2007, 14th in 2008, 14th in 2009 and 13th in 2010, by Dataquest-Nasscom.[1] It was ranked 8th by India Today magazine in 2007.
The institute is located on a campus at Jhalwa, on the outskirts of Allahabad. Some portion of the Nehru Science Center, within the Allahabad University campus, is also on lease.
The Jhalwa campus includes two computer centers with six labs each, 16 lecture halls, electronics library, and a residential campus. An open air theater, stadium and recreational facilities are under development. A third computer center is under construction comprising two wings with five floors each.
The NSC complex includes five laboratories, eight computer laboratories, five lecture halls, a conference room, auditorium, library, cafeteria, office space and other facilities. The total covered area is about 25,000 sq ft (2,300 m2).
