Lovely Professional University (LPU) is locates at Jalandhar, Punjab. This is a private and semi-residential university. LPU was established in 1961, this Year University celebrates its 50th year. This university is one of the largest private University in India in terms of the intake of the students every year. The university is situated at the entrance of the Jalandhar city which is very near to the National Highway No. 1. The campus area is around to 800 acres which are totally green field and University maintains it very properly. Lovely Professional University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UCG). University is also member of Association of Indian Universities and the distance education programmes are approved by the Distance Education Council. LPU has also several international memberships like Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), The Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, USA etc.
LPU also received various ranks from different organizations. It is rated as no. 1 University for the Infrastructure. This is the 2nd best University in North India with A++ grant. In all over India University has 17th rank as the best University. University offers around 150 different courses which are of Full time and Distance learning courses. Currently around 35,000 students are pursuing those courses. This student are belongs from different states and countries. Because as early mention LPU is a semi-residential University there is a well equipped hostel for Girls and Boys with more than 10,000 residents.
